Ingredients

  • 4 medium sized Yukon Gold Potatoes
  • Gruyere
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Thyme & nutmeg
  • Garlic
  • Salt & pepper

Directions

Step by Step

  1. Rub dish with garlic clove and save the garlic for later
  2. Butter dish
  3. Peel potatoes and cut them into 1/8th inch rounds. Transfer to pot.
  4. Add minced garlic, heavy cream and milk
  5. Add thyme, nutmeg, salt and pepper
  6. Bring to a boil, simmer 1 minute, and let cool.
  7. Layer in dish three times, adding gruyère each time.
  8. Bake at 375 until potatoes are tender when pierced with the tip of a knife, 35 to 40 minutes, and broil.
