Daily and weekly walk-around inspections.
This guide is in progress. Use at your own risk! These resources are for personal references first, and I claim no expertise, know-how, accuracy, intelligence, or anything else of the kind.
As you walk up to the bike a quick sweep of the eye should tell you that:
- there are no large puddles under the bike indicating a leak.
- the tire tread is good
- the chain has no excess slack
- the oil level is good
Once a week give the bike a complete check-over:
- wash the bike
- adjust the tire pressures
- adjust the fluid levels
- lubricate and adjust the chain and cables
